The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) stated on Friday that the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) proposal requiring Alphabet’s Google to share search data with competitors includes sufficient safeguards to protect user privacy. This assessment comes as the DOJ pursues measures to boost competition, following a ruling in August that Google holds an illegal monopoly in the online search market.
